When an Emotional Wound Opens the Door to Those Who Want to Cause Harm

Many times, behind an addiction or risky behavior, there is a pain that we cannot see: an emotional wound, a lack of support, feelings of rejection, low self-esteem, or the need to feel accepted.

During these moments of vulnerability, there are people who take advantage of young individuals by promising them love, acceptance, or a different life. Little by little, they may isolate them from their families, manipulate them, and lead them into situations that become very difficult to escape.

That is why it is so important to talk about mental health, listen to our children, create safe spaces, and remind them that their worth does not depend on the approval of others.

When someone struggles with addiction or falls into the hands of someone who wants to harm them, they do not need more judgment; they need support, guidance, and an opportunity to rebuild their life.

As families, our mission is to walk alongside our children, educate them, and pay attention to the warning signs. As a community, we must raise our voices to protect those who are vulnerable.

Because every life has value. Every story can change. And with help, love, and faith, there is always a path toward healing.
