When people ask me, “
How have you survived everything you have been through?” my answer comes from the deepest part of my heart.
I survived by learning to have faith.
Not a faith made only of words, but a faith that was tested during the most difficult moments of my life—when my heart was restless, when I could not find peace, and when I faced situations that, no matter how desperately I wanted to, I could not control or change.
I learned to be patient, even when patience was painful. I learned to wait when I desperately wanted immediate answers. I learned to trust even when I could not understand why I was going through such a difficult season.
There were moments when, humanly speaking, I simply could not take anymore. As a mother, I wanted to fix everything. I wanted to protect, change the circumstances, and take away the pain. But I had to recognize that there were things beyond my control.
And that is where I came to know God in a completely different way.
I understood that God can reach where our hands no longer can. He can calm a restless heart that cannot find rest. He can give you peace when everything around you feels as though it is falling apart. He can hold you when you feel that you have no strength left.
I cannot say that the journey was easy. I cried, I suffered, I waited, and many times I wondered how much more I could endure. But every battle made my roots grow deeper.
Today, I understand that surviving does not mean that I never experienced pain. It means that the pain did not destroy me.
My faith sustained me. Prayer became my refuge. And God gave me the strength to rise one more time, even on the days when I thought I could no longer do it.
So when people ask me how I survived, I can answer:
I survived on my knees before God so that I could stand back up and face life.
Sobreviví aprendiendo a tener fe.
Mi fe me sostuvo.
