WHEN LOVE MAKES YOU FORGET YOURSELF
Sometimes, because of love, we endure far too much. We forgive words that hurt us, justify behaviors that slowly destroy us, and accept situations that make us forget our values, our dignity, and even who we were before the relationship.
Without realizing it, what we once called love can begin to turn into fear, control, dependency, and pain. Eventually, we may want to leave but feel as though we no longer know how.
True love should never require you to lose yourself in order to keep someone else.
Learning to set boundaries is also an act of love. Walking away from what is destroying your peace takes courage. And recognizing that you need help does not make you weak; it can be the first step toward reclaiming your voice, your dignity, and your life.
Never let the fear of losing someone cause you to lose yourself.
