When a Woman Forgets Herself
There are women who have devoted their entire lives to serving others. They worked tirelessly to provide for their children. They cared for their aging parents. Today, they help raise their grandchildren. They have been everyone’s safe place—the shoulder to cry on and the hands that never stop giving.
But one day, when the house grows quiet, they realize they stopped listening to themselves a long time ago.
They smile on the outside, yet inside they carry a deep emptiness that is hard to explain. They wonder when they last did something just for themselves. When they last rested without feeling guilty. When they last dreamed of something that belonged only to them.
If you are that woman today, I want to speak to your heart:
Your life still has purpose.
No matter your age or how many years you have devoted to caring for others, it is never too late to rediscover yourself. It is never too late to learn something new, take a walk in nature, read a good book, reconnect with a friend, seek help when you need it, care for your physical and emotional well-being, or simply give yourself permission to rest.
Taking time for yourself is not selfish.
You deserve to receive the same love that you have so generously given to everyone else.
If sadness has settled into your heart, do not face it alone. Reach out to someone you trust. Allow others to walk beside you. And if depression has stolen your hope, seek professional support. Asking for help does not diminish your strength—it reflects your courage and your desire to heal.
Remember, God is not finished with your story. There are still beautiful chapters waiting to be written. Your experiences can become a source of hope for other women who feel lost or forgotten.
Today, I invite you to make a promise to yourself: give yourself a few moments each day. Breathe. Pray. Smile. Take a walk. Care for yourself. Because when a woman begins to heal, she not only transforms her own life—she also brings healing and hope to those around her.
Never forget this:
You have been a miracle in the lives of so many.
Now it is time to become a miracle in your own life.
